Project:
Custom-designed four-hour course to teach new purchasers
of Intuit's QuickBooks software program the basics of working with
QuickBooks.

Role:
Lead web designer on course development team, performed
the following tasks:
- Designed and developed complete user interface for course
environment, including
all graphics
and html templates.
- Managed two-person production team and coordinated
team's work to ensure all deadlines met.
- Worked directly with
client and
instructional designer to design course interactivities
and developed Flash
templates to ensure consistency in interactivities.
- Prepared application screen shots
in Photoshop for use in course interactivities and created interactivities
using Flash, Photoshop and Fireworks.
- Coded entire
course in html, creating templates for various types of
course pages (i.e., main lesson page, quiz page), then resolved
beta bug issues and prepared course files for delivery to live
site.
Challenges
faced:
Balancing time as lead web designer between two concurrent
projects (E.piphany and Intuit), both with abbreviated schedules;
mentoring
and managing production team in order to keep everyone working
efficiently; designing and developing user interface from scratch
within specific design and technological constraints.
