Clients:
Myself and San Francisco State University Multimedia Studies Program
Completed Site:
Portions of site (due to online storage
space limitations) available for viewing via this
link or the images below; some links and buttons within site
will be disabled.
Project:
Creation of a complete portfolio web site in a three-month
time span, to meet graduation requirements for the San Francisco
State
University's Multimedia Studies Program, which itself would showcase
my skills and expertise in hand-coding HTML, JavaScript, DHTML
and CSS and in using Flash, Photoshop, Fireworks, and other multimedia
programs.

Challenges faced:
Completing all the necessary design and development
while simultaneously working a full-time web design job and attending
classes at night;
using CSS and DHTML, which resulted in different behavior and site
rendering on different browsers.
Evolution
of beach theme:
The beach theme that persists throughout
the entire site grew out of the home page photograph, chosen to
enable
me
to follow
an
inspiration
I had to separate the professional sections of the site from the
personal, while keeping both in one site.
The text buttons for the professional elements (Portfolio, Resume)
went over the water, to represent those things in life that are
always changing and flowing
like water. The personal
buttons (Italy, Photo Gallery) went in the sand, representing
a foundation that always makes up the core of my being,
but which shifts like sand
to accommodate new interests as well as new professions.
